스티브 잡스 (Steven Paul Jobs, 1955년 2월 24일-2011년 10월 5일)는 Steve Wozniak과 함께, 애플 컴퓨터를 창업한 이후에 Apple Computer, Mac, iMac, iPod 및 iPhone 제품혁신을 주도하면서, 애플의 엄청난 성공과 사용자들의 사랑과 관심을 받고 있지요. 

 

스티브 잡스의 서거 10주년 기념으로 애플이 만든 스티브 추모 영상으로, 짧은 3분짜리 영상에 스티브 잡스의 생각과 신제품 발표 장면을 압축해서 보여줍니다.

 

 

초반 인트로에서 스티브 잡스가 전하는 인생에 대한 명언이 기억에 남네요.

 

"어른이 되면 세상이 원래 그렇다는 말을 듣게 되지요. 그리고 당신의 삶은 세상 안에서 당신의 삶을 사는 것입니다. 벽에 너무 세게 부딪히지 마세요.

 

하지만, 한 가지 간단한 사실을 발견하면 삶은 훨씬 더 넓어질 수 있지요. 즉, 당신이 인생이라고 부르는 당신 주변의 모든 것은 당신보다 똑똑하지 않은 사람들에 의해 구성되었습니다.

 

그리고 당신은 그것을 변경할 수 있지요.  당신은 영향을 미칠 수 있지요.

다른 사람이 사용할 수 있는, 자신의 것만을 만들 수도 있습니다"

 

영상 후반에 스티브 잡스가 좋아한다는, NHL 전설적 하키선수 웨인 그레츠키 Wayne Gretzky의 명언도 의미가 있네요.

 

"나는 퍽이 있었던 곳이 아니라, 퍽이 있을 곳으로 스케이트를 탑니다"

"I skate to where the puck is going to be, not where it has been."

When you grow up, you tend to get told that the world is the way it is,

and your life is just to live your life inside the world;

try not to bash into the walls too much.

 

But life can be much broader once you discover one simple fact

and that is, everything around you that you call life 

was made up by people that were no smarter than you.

 

And you can change it. You can influence it.

You can build your own things that other people can use.

I'm Steve Jobs from Apple Computer.

 

We're very glad to be here tonight.

I think you always had to be a little different to buy an Apple computer.

 

And I think you still have to think differently to buy an Apple computer.

And I think the people that do buy them, they are the people

that are not just out to get a job done they're out to change the world.

 

What a computer is to me, is it's the most remarkable tool 

that we've ever come up with, 

and it's the equivalent of a bicycle for our minds.

 

This is Mac. The whole thing is translucent.

You can see into it. It's so cool.

Pleased to announce today that I'm going to drop the interim title.

It is to stand at the intersection of technology and humanity and to make something for people

that want to bring this into their lives and use it for things that make them more creative,

not just make them more productive.

 

This amazing little device holds a thousand songs, and it goes right in my pocket.

 

An iPod, a phone, and an interent communicator.

And we are calling it "iPhone".

 

We have a chance, if we stay focused and choose wisely,

to really continue to impact people's lives in some small way, for the better.

 

 

There's an old Wayne Gretzky quote that I love.

"I skate to where the puck is going to be, not where it has been."

 

And we've always tried to do that at Apple since the very, very beginning.

And we always will.
