"Santa Claus Is Comin' to Town"은 J. Fred Coots 와 Haven Gillespie 가 작사하고 Harry Reser와 His Band가 작곡한 산타클로스가 등장하는 크리스마스 노래 입니다.  

 

1934년 11월 Eddie Cantor 의 라디오 쇼에서 이 곡이 취재되었을 때 히트작이 되었고, 바로 24시간 만에 악보 50만 장, 음반 3만 장 이상이 팔렸습니다. 

 

이어서, 수많은 가수들의 버전이 있는데, 빙 크로스비 Bing Crosby, 브루스 스프링스턴 Bruce Springsteen, 프랭크 시내트라 Frank Sinatra , 빌 에반스 Bill Evans 등 200명이 넘는 아티스트가 부른 크리스마스 명곡이지요. 

 

특히, Bruce Springsteen과 E Street Band의 록 버전은 1975년 12월 12일 뉴욕 브룩빌 에 있는 CW Post College에서 처음 녹음되고 발표되었네요.
