[IT Note] 4G & 5G coverage in US
Who are top3 mobile carries in US?
The answer are Verizon, AT&T and T-Mobile, but what about 4G & 5G coverage in US?
The way of top3 ranking is mixed up with revenue, active users, speed or coverage, but top3 are definitely 3 firms. And I just want to show the coverage map for top3 in order to get better understanding about where we can use our mobile phone.
The top3 can cover almost all national-wide area based on 4G LTE & 5G networks except many mid-west nearby Rocky, part of Appalanchian, northern Maine or some part of Texas.
Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile, and Google Fi are all major mobile network operators in the United States, and they all offer both 4G and 5G coverage to their customers.
Here's a brief overview of their 4G and 5G coverage:
- Verizon: Verizon has one of the largest 4G networks in the United States, covering over 98% of the population. Their 5G network is also quite extensive, with coverage in over 60 cities and counting.
- AT&T: AT&T's 4G network covers around 68% of the population, and their 5G network is available in over 30 cities. They also offer a low-band 5G network that covers a much larger area, but with slower speeds.
- T-Mobile: T-Mobile's 4G network covers around 62% of the population, and their 5G network is available in over 100 cities. They also offer a mid-band 5G network that provides faster speeds but with more limited coverage.
- Google Fi: Google Fi is a mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) that uses the networks of multiple carriers to provide coverage to its customers. As a result, the quality of their 4G and 5G coverage will depend on the network of the carrier that your phone is currently connected to.
It's worth noting that 5G coverage is still relatively new and not yet available everywhere in the United States. Additionally, the quality of coverage may also depend on a variety of factors, including location, the specific device we're using, and even the time of day.
